CHERRY HILL, NJ – Independence Solar announces the completion of a 150 kW rooftop solar array at Dependable Distribution Service’s cocoa warehouse in Pennsauken, NJ. Dependable Distribution is the leading importer and warehouser of cocoa in the Mid-Atlantic.
Dependable Distribution partnered with Independence Solar to install almost 500 solar panels that produce nearly 150 kW (DC) of clean, renewable power. This bold initiative will offset most of Dependable Distribution’s electrical needs for the facility. By reducing their carbon footprint, Dependable Distribution is helping America transition to cleaner energy and achieve energy independence.
Over its lifetime this installation is expected to generate 4 million kWh of energy that would otherwise be generated from fossil fuels. This is equivalent to preventing almost 125 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere or planting a 30-acre forest.
Ari Weiner, Vice President of Dependable Distribution Services, commented: “We had a very clear vision–to undertake a sustainability initiative that would have an impact on both our carbon footprint and our bottom line. With the experts at Independence Solar, I knew we were in good hands. This was a great experience from start to finish.”
Keith Peltzman, President at Independence Solar, shared: “We are honored that Dependable Distribution selected Independence Solar to be their turnkey solar provider. With solar, Dependable Distribution transformed into a sustainable operation while simultaneously reducing their operating expenses. Independence Solar is proud to include Dependable Distribution as another satisfied client in New Jersey.”
