FOREST HILL, MD – Independence Solar today announced the completion of a 126 kW rooftop solar array for ACM Technologies, a Forest Hill, MD based developer of environmentally-friendly custom water treatment systems.
ACM’s new solar system is comprised of 494 US-manufactured monocrystalline PV panels procured from Oregon-based SolarWorld and demonstrates the company’s commitment to clean, renewable and cost-effective energy sources.
The system will enable ACM to avoid volatile energy costs for 85% of their electricity needs at the company’s 16,000 square foot state-of-the-art ion exchange regeneration facility in Forest Hill, MD. The company will also enjoy additional cash flow from Solar Renewable Energy Credits (“SRECs”) generated from the system.
Karl Weber, General Manager at ACM, commented, “ACM’s core business is about protecting the environment. Sourcing our energy from the sun is directly in line with our company’s values and purpose.”
He added, “Independence Solar was a true partner through every step of the process ¾ from financial planning to permitting and even integrating solar onto our website. They made the entire process simple to understand and seamless.”
Independence Solar President Keith Peltzman shared, “It was important for ACM not to experience any disruptions to their day-to-day operations. I’m pleased to say in a time span of just two months, Independence Solar was able to significantly advance ACM’s sustainability goals with a system that will also deliver significant economic returns by hedging against high electricity costs.”
