Independence Solar Completes 196 kW Rooftop Installation on New Headquarters for ActionPak, Inc.
November 24, 2020 – CAMDEN, NJ – ActionPak, Inc., a nationwide source for contract manufacturing, product assembly and co-packing, announces the completion of a 196 kW rooftop solar installation on its new 200,000 square foot, state-of-the-art packaging facility located at 1600 River Avenue in Camden, NJ. The 491 solar panels will offset 20% of the electric usage at the newly constructed building.
Ira Smith, President of ActionPak commented, “When we decided to create a new headquarters for ActionPak, we knew that how we power our operations would be important. We sat down with Independence Solar and reviewed the numbers for solar energy. Solar energy makes sense for us because it reduces our energy costs, but it is also important to our customers and our supply chain. Sustainability is an important company goal and we are excited to integrate solar into our new headquarters. Independence Solar made it easy for us to go solar and we would recommend them, as an experienced developer, contractor and maintenance provider.
Keith Peltzman, President at Independence Solar, shared: “We are delighted to bring non-polluting solar energy to ActionPak’s groundbreaking new facility in Camden. This location presented some unique technical challenges around wind speed design, roof integration and lightning protection. Independence Solar was able to bring our extensive local knowledge to address all issues surrounding this site and its special considerations.
