October 6, 2020 – BRIDGEPORT, NJ – Independence Solar announces the completion of a 480 kW rooftop solar array for SEW Eurodrive USA in partnership with Carbon Lighthouse, Inc. The 1,216 solar panels provide 100% of the annual electricity requirements for this Northeast Region Assembly Center of SEW Eurodrive in Bridgeport, NJ. SEW Eurodrive is a world leader in drive technology and a pioneer in drive-based automation. Carbon Lighthouse implements energy solutions to reduce emissions while creating profit for building owners.
SEW Eurodrive had already implemented a long-term partnership with Carbon Lighthouse at SEW Eurodrive facilities throughout the U.S. to optimize energy performance. Carbon Lighthouse utilized their patented CLUES software platform to build a customized energy model for SEW Eurodrive. In addition to energy management, Carbon Lighthouse identified the Bridgeport, NJ facility as an ideal location for a rooftop solar installation. After vetting numerous local solar installers, Carbon Lighthouse selected Independence Solar for their decade-plus of local expertise and experience utilizing the latest technologies.
Scott Bansky, Operations Manager of SEW Eurodrive’s Bridgeport location commented, “SEW Eurodrive embraces sustainability not only because it is good for our bottom line, but also because it is good for our planet. Powering our NJ facility 100% with solar power allows us to demonstrate to our customers, employees and entire supply chain our commitment to renewables. Independence Solar was an ideal partner for the solar installation. They provided consistent communication while handling every aspect of the project and, most importantly, they allowed our Assembly Center to run without interruption throughout the installation. There may be many companies that can install solar panels, but Independence Solar really stood out; their expertise and attention-to-detail made it easy to go solar.”
Keith Peltzman, President at Independence Solar, shared, “We are honored to help SEW lower their operating costs and reduce their carbon footprint with solar energy. We will continue to maintain their investment as if it is our own and thank SEW Eurodrive and Carbon Lighthouse for their confidence in this ongoing relationship.”
