NEW MILFORD, CT – Ring’s End, one of Connecticut’s leading retail lumber, millwork and home remodeling companies, and Independence Solar, a turnkey installer of solar energy projects along the East Coast, completed their third project together with a 90 kW rooftop array at Ring’s End’s New Milford showroom and lumberyard.
Matt Dewing, Facilities Manager of Ring’s End, commented, “We have made a sound investment with our solar installations and this project brings us one step closer to our goal of powering a significant portion of our properties with clean, renewable power. This solar system will save money while also furthering our commitment to being a sustainability leader within the communities we serve. The Independence Solar team, along with their installation partner Munger Construction, delivered a quality system, on time and on budget. We look forward to continuing working together as we roll out solar to additional properties.”
The New Milford project will offset approximately 60% of the building’s annual electrical usage. The installation is connected to Eversource’s electrical network and is a part of the Zero Emissions Renewable Energy Certificate (or “ZREC”) program, which secures a 15-year contract with the utility.
