CAMDEN, NJ – Lyons & Sons, Inc., a leader in the storage and distribution of cocoa on the East Coast, announces the completion of a 265 kW rooftop solar installation at a 300,000 square foot warehouse in Camden, NJ. Lyons & Sons selected Independence Solar–one of the oldest and most experienced commercial solar energy installers on the East Coast–as their turnkey solar installer and operator.
The 828 solar panels will offset 100% of their electric usage and prevent 220 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere. By self-generating clean energy, Lyons & Sons is doing their part to help America combat climate change and achieve energy independence.
Mike Dougherty, President of Lyons & Sons, commented, “We first committed to solar energy because this is an investment that is good for our bottom line. By reducing our operating costs, we can better serve our customers. But sustainability is also a core value to Lyons and our customers. The cocoa industry is constantly seeking to reduce its carbon footprint, and we are excited to take a leadership role in the supply chain. We placed our faith in Independence Solar and they delivered far above our expectations.”
Keith Peltzman, President at Independence Solar, shared, “We are honored that Lyons & Sons selected Independence Solar as their turnkey solar provider. In addition to implementing solar, we were able to make collateral improvements to their roof, lighting and energy management. We are proud to include them as another satisfied client in New Jersey and deeply appreciate the trust they place in us to install their solar investment and maintain it on an ongoing basis.”
